The paper
discusses the basic principles of practical implementation of variable size
network addresses system addressing in modern Ethernet networks an example of EX
technology. Identified possible ways and features of implementation such
systems for the different network addresses sizes and the different methods of
network organization. The list of examples of possible use of alternative technologies
in existing telecommunication networks is considered. Prepared a list of
changes that need to be made in software and hardware of modern Ethernet
networks for working with variable length network address.
Key words: redundancy of service information, variable size of network address, EX technology.
